When night fell, darkness enveloped the earth, and the Barren Land fell into silence. Looking down from the sky on this dark night, clusters of flames on the ground shone like stars in the night sky.

That night, no one rested in the five main cities of the Barren Land. Each one of them, every demon and every undead fellow came to the streets of each city. They held fire lamps in their hands. They gathered on the streets and lit the bonfires piled up on the streets. The fire lit up the whole city. White flowers dotted on both sides of each street. All were dressed in white and black cloaks, piously holding the fiery lamps in their hands to honor the fallen heroes.

This was the first day of the alliance army's war against the Devil Race, and it was also a day that people would never forget. Today, too many people had died and too many comrades had given their lives in the battle. On this day, there was no boundary based on race. Human beings, magical beasts, demons, and undead had all become eternal brothers here in the Barren Land. They vowed to fight against the enemy hand in hand.
