Elynara woke to the soft morning light slipping across the ceiling beams. She blinked, eyes dry, mind moving like thick syrup. Her body felt heavy, like she’d already spent hours working, though she knew she’d slept well.

Sitting up, the blanket fell into a pile around her waist. She groggily stared at the wall, letting her eyes unfocus while her thoughts tried to catch up. “Feels like I’ve been busy all night.”
