Completely irrelevant to this chapter, but it just occurred to me. Isn’t the day count pointless? Souya was told that the company would reopen the portal and bring him back after one year, but time flows differently in the two worlds. The job interview in the original world did not hint at knowing about the time difference, and Tortch didn’t know about it until meeting Souya. Also, using the numbers given by Tortch, a full year should have already passed in Souya’s home world.

Thanks for reading and commenting, SchmidtNation! It's not exactly that time flows differently, it's more like unless you have the specific coordinates, the exit of the portal may be weird. for example, if you open a portal randomly 2 days in a row, the second one may open to a time period totally different from the first and they may lead to times that are years apart(and the second may even lead a time earlier than the first). But with specific coordinates(Makina) you should be able to avoid that issue. <-Tortch's speculation back in volume 3

Thanks for the chapter. Makina is a hard worker. I am really curious about the cat's past now.

Thanks for unlocking, reading and commenting, DavyDrones! Makina gets stressed when she has nothing to do. And she's had nothing to do for a while haha. In time, in time, we'll see the cat's story Read more
