I found this arc is a bit of a mess with no where to enough explantion. Or did I perhaps skip something? What are those Horns' goals? Why can they be clever enough to set a magical trap in a safe room invisible to them? How could they convince the apprentice knight to bait them while they can't speak? Why did they capture and rape the prisoners as if they need to breed or satisfy sexual needs like human? What is that place that remind Souya of the Lemuria castle? Is it a mirror world or still the floor where they were trappped? What did Verxina mean saying all those lines about kings? Why are those humanoid Horns and weirdly shaped Horns fighting each other? And what the hell with Garving?

Gotta love how this author always dash our expectations with his unexpected endings to various arcs. Just when Souya was going to kill the Old Magician out comes Verxina to end the battle, make some revealing statement than can break a man's heart (Lemeria), and confirm things that were hinted (Evetta is her daughter). Still even with all that the story ended interesting. Good writing at it best.

First time reply here and very thanks for the chapter. I put the author of this novel as best of author I ever read, and/or you too as best translator ever. As of why, not many novel I read can pack so many info with so little word. Compare to other novel that go loads of word but little progress, this novel pack so much secret, lore, hints, emotions and progress in every chapters and still keep on dishing out those chapters like nothing. Read more Personally I love novel with lots of word like "Death Mage" or "Death March" but this novel will be in first list of "People who can use less word to get to the point" in my book. So Thanks again for translation and please keep up the good work. Show less

Thanks for reading and commenting, Xzelot! Thank you so much for your kind words. And yeah, I'm in awe of this author's skill. It's really amazing. And so many of the parts that look like filler aren't filler AT ALL. The author just purposely made them look that way then buries important hints and plot points there. This is indeed one of the most densely packed novels I've ever read and the amazing part is how the author doesn't make it feel too dense by pacing things well and having those "filler(but not really)" parts. Shit happened so fast that only now do we get the time to slow down and have it explained to us. Well, not that half of it hasn’t already been implicitly told already, but still.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Le Salt! Good time to change the pace, isn't it? Also, you're not wrong, but there'll still be many interesting tidbits to be revealed. =)

“Like art. Like predators hunting. Like creatures slaughtering each other in the purest form. Read more Warped lives clashing together, their fight evoked a sense of beauty.” That was so exquisite [equal praise due to Author and Translator], I have given myself the challenge to render it in a Haiku in English. Will Probably take me till the New Year. Been decades since I’ve set myself that difficult of a Poetic Challenge. Show less
