I think it's time for a re-read haha. It's easy to forget the details after such a long time I suppose. She got pregnant somewhere around day 100, said the baby would be out in 50 days, but is still pregnant around day 180 and not particularly near birth yet. Remember, what you hear isn't necessarily the truth in this novel. That's the realistic part of it. People exaggerate, stories are warped by too many retellings, and so on. You can never take things at face value, just like in real life.

But Souya does say he heard that beastkin pregnancies are shorter, but from the above, I don't think it's that much shorter and Regure is definitely exaggerating

The thing is, Regure was telling the truth, or at least, her truth. That baby before died so fast exactly because she was only pregnant for 50 days and it became a stillborn.

That's an interesting take. Yeah, maybe her knowledge was off because of what happened.

And where did you get the idea that beastkin have short pregnancies? haha. They know immediately when they conceive, but I don't remember anything about their pregnancies being short
