Hey, the agreement was Duan Hen would be a new emperor in Seven Kingdoms region while he give the Barren Land in his region (the western Barren Land) to SYX. As for that alliance of five mercenaries, Long Fei would surely resist BSP temptation and threat. So, their alliance will broke before the big war. But, Long Fei might be able to get big part of the alliance's force as his mercenary force is the strongest and has bigger influence in the alliance.

People can do extreme things for greed (just like jealousy) and plus, the Broken Star Palace told him that the other three countries are likely also to join, so with the combined forces or all four countries, it's natural to believe they can defeat someone who's land does not have a deep foundation (as in has only been less than two years).

The author didn't destroy her world building, she destroy these emperors/rulers' brain cells. 😅 As we can clearly see, their plan of making alliance to attack SYX's region IS illogical and insensible. Greed, hatred (toward SYX), and arrogance can depleted human IQ to a dangerously low level. It blind them to the facts and truth. And, if we remember how the author described the ruler of those four countries so far, they have ample amount of it. *Smh*

@paqo8833 I agree with above commenter also add in that the Emperor is basically being forced into it by BSP he's not really being given much of a choice and the sage has told him he'll have support of three other countries and afterwards the cities he conquers will all be his. His greed activated and blinded him to the common sense.
