Its the other way around. VB and SYX have a blood contract, while the other 5 animals have a soul contract. VB and SYX, bound by blood, means that if SYX dies, VB can return here and await the next successor. In contrast, the other guys (unsure about Xiaowei) have soul contracts, meaning that if they die, so do the beasts.
