At this point, i think Ouyang Huanyu may have been the one who instigated the war between the gods and the devils.

At the last beast tide, it's clear that the demon race doesn't have loyalty for their own race. I don't remember whether SYX has informed them about the Devil's god's resurrection. But, no matter what, they had (unknowingly) gone against their own god and stood on his enemy (Xiu). God of Devil most probably wouldn't forgive their betrayal and would kill them all.If they're smart, they would know that their only one remaining path to survive now: continue to be loyal to SYX and Xiu.
