Elle, I agree with you too many things have happened and things have changed so much. I think maybe leaving them in place but in the advisory capacity that they are supposed to be in. That would allow the King (sorry forget his name now) to really be a king which is what ahe promised him. He would benefit from their knowledge while being able to truly manage the kingdom. His death was suspicious and SYX and DH suspected that the elders has something to do with it. @Nikgiwi After the war against the four countries alliance and the beast tide (after the Devil's God threatened to come back with the devil army in 3 years), SYX told Duan Heng that she would make the emperors of Seven Kingdoms fall ill and she would make some kind of trouble for the elders. With the incapacitated imperial families, all the ground work would be laid for Duan Heng to kill the elders and seize the throne from the imperial families. She asked him to do it in less than 3 years. Idk what kind of unforgivable offense the imperial families of Seven Kingdoms did to SYX and DH, except being a group of puppet emperors for the elders. But, that's her plan for them (and their family). 🤷‍♀️
