Ok I'm confused if yang xi is already contracted to azure dragon how can he contract one of the dragon race.... Unless they're not magical beasts? Thats the only way it would make sense and be allowed

They are in fact not a magical beast. They are one of the seven “races” and his is not a true dragon. It was explained.I don’t know why he would still be able to contract with a dragon as well though.
