Well, the 3 dragons have been away for 2 thousand years, so it's possible that relations between dragons and merfolk have broken down for whatever reason.

Oh, that's a more plausible reason than what I've thought. I thought the mer blood in SYX was from a mer fugitive. So, they attacked her, mistaken her as him/her. 😅
