She's an orphan never had a family. We saw her walking down a street as a child with little clothing until she was found by that thief agency. So shouldn't her story actually have more setbacks. Yes she has backup, Xiu offered to make a contract with her to help her because her arrival gave the body a soul who was intelligent and he sensed that change. But she was the one who put in the hard work. She was the one who put herself through that. She could have followed a nice relaxed pace. She could have abandoned one of the paths and just focused on Dou Qu OR magic. She made the effort and once she took over Rising Sun City she could have sat back and just focused on restoring Xiu and given up cultivation because If she strengthens Xiu she could rely only on his strength. Hell with her looks she could seduce a bunch of strong guys to fight for her. But she never gives up on her own power because She wants to protect those she loves with her own power. And she does that.

@ChristinaC Yes, she did have xiu's help which saved her alot of problem, however you can't also ignore the hard work and effort that she put in to train herself and improve in every possible way. Also, xiu is not always the reason why she improved very fast, Xiu helped Yanxiao in unlocking the seal, giving guidance for cultivation and dealing with the really powerful enemies himself however, most of her strength is because she actually put effort and trained herself to become stronger. She advanced quickly because of her talent and efforts.
