I don't think it's fair to say this. Shen Yu was healed by Wen Ya with the seed his brother found, not Long Shi, so he knew SYX was fine by the time he could do anything. As for Wen Ya, healing both of them before joining Siyu instead of being a burden was the best choice. Specially when Long Shi was likely WAY more powerful than she probably was 15 years ago.

Um... bro?? Wen ya was in a big struggle. Her husband was dying and her child was missing. She didn't know what to pick but the light god promised he would save shen yanxiao. With the reassurance of a LIGHT GOD. She went to the moongod continent to find a way to save shen yu. However when she got there she was captured by the elf king. Yes shen yu was saved later but that didn't mean he was cured. He was taken to the continent to heal his injuries. With a captured mother and an injured father in a hidden dragon continent. I don't think it's possible for them to find Yanxiao

He's a member of God Race, a Light God, not even some low level god. The weakest among God Race was still stronger than the strongest people among human race. Shen Yu was unconscious and need immediate treatment while Wen Ya was injured at that time. If they forced themselves, they'd just sending themselves as experimental subjects to the warlocks instead of saving SYX. She thought it's the best option because (considering the God Race's proud nature) Siyu never show how weak he's after all these centuries. It's not really a choice for Wen Yan and Shen Yu. After that, Wen Ya was detained by the Elf King. If you remember her interaction with the Elf King, you'll know that she's always tried to save her husband and escape from him. Shen Yu was snatched by Long Shi. But, Shen Yu still need the seeds (which Shen Jing found and Wen Ya delivered) to be cured. It's not that they didn't want to go home and watch over SYX's growth in the last 14 years. They can't. It's simply impossible. As for the last years? Do you forget how strong SYX was and how Xiu appeared as ally by SYX's side in Moon God Continent and Wen Ya witnessed all of it? She felt reassured about SYX's safety and Shen Yu needed the seed to save his life. SYX spent a month of ship and a few more months on land to reach Rising Sun City. She spent only a few months in Barren Land before she departed to Dragon Continent. By the time SYX won over the beast tide, Wen Ya might have just landed off the elves' ship on the Dragon Continent. By the time SYX conquered BSP, Shen Yu might have just cured. They didn't have the protagonists' halo, so they wouldn't get things done as fast as SYX.
