The undead will bring death to the other creatures by simply existing around them. Some of us will think that's a tragic constitution. But, evidently, they've made peace with it and found another ways to keep surviving. Meanwhile, other races (and SYX) dismiss their tragic constitution and disgusted (hated) the "another ways" they developed to survive.

I guess that's the reason why they sided with the devils. Must've been hard for the first group of undeads who were scorned by the other races just by existing.
