*Nods @YueXie comment* Mind the context when you read a "multiple point of views" story. You have to learn to recognize which paragraph(s) are from which character's p.o.v. Naturally, the author would use "he" and "Yan Di" for SYX when she narrated the story in the students' p.o.v. They didn't know her real name is Shen Yanxiao, not Yan Di. And they didn't know she's a she. It will be strange if the author narrated informations which are unknown for someone when she wrote it from their p.o.v. Like, how do the students referred to SYX as a "she" and "Shen Yanxiao" in their narration when they know her as "Yan Di" and they've never seen her as a she?
