It took you a while to see her hypocrisy... She picks up n groups of people who all become super attached to her, then completely dumps them. Think little Feng. He loves his 'sister' to death and would love nothing more than just stand next to her, but she dumps him whenever she sees him. Oh, she sometimes pats his head. I'm not saying to be joined to the hip, but at least you can acknowledge his feelings of dependence and help him get through it (like finding him friends and people he can interact with). Just telling him - this person is really important to me, I need you to keep them safe and chat to them as much as you can - would definitely get him exposed to others and ease him into not being so dependent (which may be cute, but is not healthy). One may argue that she never had friends/family before so she doesn't know how to interact with them, but showing your care other than when they're about to die and you avenge them is really not that difficult. And her ending up this busy is really just a consequence of her choices. FoxReader3715 I don't understand your comment. Do you want her to sympathise with Yaksha or do you want here to be mad at him for being a bad father? Humans are complex. We have different opinions about different things. That doesn't make us hypocritical. She feels bad for him and can relate to him on some level but he's also tens of thousands of years old and should at least have some sense to not treat his son the same way he was treated. And of course she is trying to "use" him. There's a war coming! She needs allies. You can't get any results by being nice. It's not the same as abandoning them. Abandoning them would be disappearing without any explanation out of her own choice. Yea she has disappeared at times but it was unintentional and the times she has, everyone knows the situation and understands even if they aren't willing. And Little Feng is a special case. He was experimented on and his mind isn't all there. The warlocks messed him up so they could control him. It's a miracle that he can even do anything without being commanded like a puppet. Remember how the original SYX was? How the original body was a "waste" and had the mentality of a 4 yr old? That was because of the experimenting that was done on her while she was a baby. Little Feng compared to how she was is basically fully functional. He's interacted with others before and he's had no reaction at all or progress at all. The only reason he sees SYX as a sister is because the integrated bloodlines in his body are the same as SYX so he resonates with her. Erm, no? SYX also had an experience as "abandoned child" (imho, being abandoned was only one of possibility. She might be kidnapped and her parents had been looking for her all their life. Or, her parents might be orphans and they had died when she's baby or toddler from accident or illnesses) in her previous life. But, it didn't hinder her to felt familial affection towards her first team in the organization. So, in her p.o.v, Yaksha's experience with Lord God and his parents can't be the reason for his "abuse" on Mingye. But, she has no position nor power to "re-educate" Yaksha to treat his son better. So, she can only criticize him internally. But, she also ignored the nature of God Race: proud and aloof; and the nature of Undead's royal family: impassionate and detached. She dismiss/forget her first team's credit in teaching her about familial affection. And Yaksha couldn't get that lesson from his environment, not from the God Race, nor from the Undead. As the author has said from the beginning, SYX has a very twisted outlook about the world. She doesn't see vices as something bad and she tends to suspect (and treat them coldly or rudely) any person who's polite, gentle, compassionate, and doing good deed for the sake of itself. It's easier for criminals/outcast to get her trust and sympathy. But, the good people has to constantly showering her with unlimited kindness and patience for a long time before she trust them. She often called out when another person steal, having double standard, being hypocrite, greedy, only protecting their own people, etc without even care about the reason why they do it.
