SYX had all the time to find the king and tell him the story about the kidnapping before the convention. It would've been better if the King was aware so he won't have to ask why this and why that at critical moments. ?

Exactly, I think she keeps too much hidden which really causes issues later if she didn't do that how could the story extend so long ?
