Sigh. 😞 Now I read further about the Long Xuan's emperor and his ministers, I can't help but suspected that someone else has replaced the emperor after SYX left Radiant Continent. I mean, in previous chapters, it's obviously he only had excessive prejudice against warlocks (and it's fanned by SD) and that mistake was dragging him and his empire spiralling down. Aside from it, he's not an ambitious and powerful emperor. But, he WAS a competent emperor. That's why Long Yue still respected his father even though he saw his unjustified persecution toward SYX and Barren Land (aside from how good a father he's for him). But, in less than two years, he reduced Long Xuan military force into "slag" and led the empire to the "brink of destruction". In these more than two years, he didn't show any wisdom he's showing in years before he knew SYX nor the trace of enlightenment he got when he's returning from Barren Land. I understand if the author has been planned to erased Long Xuan Empire from the continent since the beginning. Or she want to portray Long Yue as a better emperor (candidate). But, LY has already been so since the beginning. He only needs a few years of maturing to be fully able replacing his father. Even the emperor himself has expressed his will to abdicate and let Long Yue replace him at that time. The author definitely doesn't need to shred the emperor's character settings just to reach this goal.
