I know Shen Yanxiao’s already really good, but I wish she wouldn’t dismiss the pharmaceutical branch so much. She should focus more of her attentions on it as it can earn her more money to unlock her seal. At the same time, this is really the only branch she can fully learn without holding anything back. Imagine how good she could be if she wasn’t so dismissive of her talents and the branch itself…

But they explained that - she doesn't feel the progress of pharmacology in the same way that she feels the progress of the archery and warlock professions therefore she feels that her progress is slow. She's a teenager and it's only natural to focus on what she feels she is good at. Also it makes a nice change for someone to be dismissive of pharmacology/alchemy/medicine! In pretty much every other novel I've read that is one of the go to professions to focus on.
