It was mentioned only a bit before, but spiritual beasts, especially such high level Mythological Beasts, can smell very, very far. They’d easily be able to track their child down again. You’re right though that it’s weird they’d entrust their child with someone they don’t personally know. What if she had a bad personality?? But honestly, they don’t really have much of a choice here, with the baby Phoenix not wanting to leave willingly. Still, the only reason they’re asking, I think, is because of Vermillion Bird and Xiu. They’re so strong, they can easily protect the little baby Phoenix. 🐦🔥
