This kind of thing that took me out of this story. These nobles are so outrightly evil that it undermines the first half of the story about how the spirits punished bad lords. They don't have a smidge of fear of consequences, it seems like how important the spirits were is retconned and forgotten just to create this forced conflict. I think I will skim through these next chapters because they're frustratingly bad to read based on everything at the beggining.
