Use all thé cards in you're hands. She has the Marquis love and loyalty (even if he's an ass otherwise), she knows what her MIL likes, and she knows the concubine's weak point. Use it all and dominate thé field!

He let his mum bring a concubine into the house, let her trample all over his wife's dignity and spread malicious rumours about her. Oh and he proposed to her parents after she rejected marrying him. I don't see that as loyalty, I see that as self-centredness he only does as much as he absolutely needs to otherwise she wouldn't have lived in the countryside for 10 years.
