At least in this story we can see how gu Jinyu goes from as shallow rich girl to a crappy teenaged villainess. If at all she'd been brought up by Yao Shi (probably suffered post partum depression & subconsciously resented her "daughter") she'd never be able to go evil

This white lotus GU JINYU, really become so demanding..despite already knowing that she isn't blood related to the Marquis, still felt that she needed to be understood and coax...what an ingrate..

wow, you are so cruel for 14 yo girl that suddenly doesn't know where she belong and almost all people from the family (not the dad and grandma) are more nice for the new girl. Moreover, she doesn't know why her sister can talk with their brothers but she can't.
