For God's sake, what's the harm in at least being polite to someone? It doesn't matter if she received attention from the Marquis's family, it's obvious she wants attention from the mother who raised her. You guys are too harsh.

Why are people pitying Gu Jinyu? She has not been treated any less of a daughter by the Marquis Estate. As for her relations hip with her mother even before it wasn't deep because she prefered thé capital over her mother and brother. There's IS no basis for her self esteem problems except that she can't tolérate not being seen as perfect by others. All her troubles are brought about by her self and by acting stupid she's going to lose everything.

I can't help but feel bad for Jinyu, the author is definitely setting her up to go against JiaoJiao but she's just a 15 yr old girl who wants validation and love from her family. Not to mention Yao shi attitude towards her definitely frustrates me, Jinyu is still her daughter who she raised but she's so obviously biased towards JiaoJiao no wonder Jinyu is looking elsewhere for validation

*vanity. Validation doesn't mean taking credit of someone's else work.I think the mother did good, not degrading any of their accomplishment and praising each. The problem is that Jinyu doesn't just want "validation" she wants her praise her as the best among others like Marquis. And that's not very good especially when you just recently gotten your true daughter.

why are people so blind? Wanting validation does not mean wanting other people's RIGHTS and wanting to be superior to other people. Do you think it's right if you envy your own siblings and want only you to be the center of attention and not them? and if your brother makes achievements, you don't feel happy at all but instead feel like your siblings snatch your position? Can this be called just "wanting validation?" if you just "want validation" you will only focus on yourself and your values, hope that others see your potential and value and give you appreciation. even if your sibling is successful, you will still feel happy even though you may feel envy. but taking other people's credit, badmouthing your siblings, ensure your siblings inferior to you and consider your siblings as rival (in a bad way) is such a despicable act. You need other people so you can be superior. even if you're just a child, this is something wrong. not to mention at age 15, you should already be able to process your own thoughts.

So far, I really sympathize with Jinyu. All she really wanted is recognition. She has her faults but she's really not thinking of causing any harm to Gu Jiao. I hope the author will not make her be completely bad/villain.

I hope so. She never intentionally hurt anyone. Unfortunately, with her jealous and dishonest nature, over time it will bring herself to ruin.

It's very worrisome but this is how pure white lotus behaves. They don't want to hurt anyone but they still do and just because there wasn't intention doesn't mean it's bad.Imo, flaunting your rewards doesn't make you that good of a person especially when normally a true daughter would be sensitive on the issue of being inferior.

Thank you! I do feel for Jinyu. She craves love and attention. In the original story, she wasn't very nice to Gu Jiao, but she hasn't been cruel this time and Jiaojiao knows that the original wasn't blameless. Yes, Jinyu's going to get a major face slap for taking credit for something she didn't invent but she's legit smart and talented. It's a pity that she's not more genuine as a person. I hope this can help her change and won't destroy her.
