Thought for a second that guye was a misspelling or affectation on guy, like- "this guy!" but no, the note corrected me. It was amusing to think that at first, though... Love that it's a family affair when someone does well. The whole street's there to congratulate them.

We have a similar term in Tamil meaning bridegroom and this is used by the wife's family even when the son-in-law is an old bandicoot
