I hate the label middle child syndrome. Anyone can feel like that when they are in a situation where they are neither favoured nor neglected. It needs a new name. Also why do people act so dismissive of the very real pain that being treated as though you, your actions and efforts don't matter causes? Every child should be valued by their family, Every person matters. If we all actually tried treating others with even just basic courtesy and decency all the time it would change the world a lot. Yes he lives a live some might envy and wish for but not everyone wants the same things. To dismiss his pain as middle child syndrome is harsh. The guy lost his mum at a young age. His father is useless. His grandfather is abusive, his grandmother and Concubine Ling are manipulative and mentally abusive.
