one thing I've been wondering, why does everyone successful recognizing wrong people all the time? the story is basically formulated with white lotus+misplaced credit, although revelation is satisfying, i am almost dying with anger before we get to that point

Superman/Batman comics - nobody recognises the heroes alt identities which is ridiculous. Especially Superman, all he does is take off his glasses. In this case the child didn't even see the person who gave the cake so the villain was assumed/misdirected.
