It makes sense to me that she might resist this specific drug. That's because it's a hallucinogen; it affects the mind... and while our protagonist's body isn't trained in this new life, her mental training is something I think makes sense for her to retain. That's why this drug would be less effective on our protagonist than the mildest alcohol. 😅
