Ning Wangfei just pretty much strip off the remaining pretense between her and Ning Wang. Not sure if I should be glad that he seems to at least has a tiny bit of feeling towards her that’s why he stopped his plan with killing Rui Wangfei or what.

Honestly I think it's more that Ning Wangfei's death would be highly inconvenient for his long term plans. Anyone who investigates it might stumble on something he doesn't want known.
