The rule of manhwa would be that Jiaojiao is the daughter but it won't match the timeline because Jiaojiao has a twin. Or they could say that Jiaojiao is the reincarnation of Yinyin (she was Yinyin in this timeline but she was Gu Jiao on her original timeline and when Yinyin died her soul merge

Cliche and rule of cool would say that Jiaojiao has to be a descendant of the Xuanyuan family. Either her mother is one or she is actually that Yinyin girl. But I'm not sure how the timelines connect.Maybe she's the reincarnated Yinyin? Or perhaps they just see her as found family because she resembles Yinyin and the Xuanyuan family so much?

Why does Jiao Jiao keeps dreaming about the Duke’s past? What’s the relationship? I thought that her mom might be the daughter of the Duke but if that Mu guy is young like Liulang then Jiao Jiao’s mom can’t be the Duke’s daughter. Hmmm 🤔
