The fine details matter. He didn't say it was because he uses a sword and not a wand. He said that swords who can't use magic on their own. In other words, swords that can use magic are perfectly fine. They're a magic organization. Is it really so weird to say Will has to use magic in some way to join?

Imagine a rugby team joining the NFL and saying that they want to be Superbowl champs but playing using rugby rules while on the field. Did you miss the part where almost everyone headhunted him? It's just Kreuz this time who is objecting and he made a good enough point that the fire magia wende acceded he had a point and allowed the "follow-up test", which Will did badly in.Yes, this is a manga where the MC is discriminated against and it's a common theme in it, but there's no need to blow it beyond proportions and equate the actions of a few to all.

He's practical and realistic to a fault, which makes him cold(irony).But he isn't without a point. Right now, Will can't use Wyss by himself and can do nothing against enemies immune to physical damage. It would be nice if he could overcome that, no?Read more

I'm juts spitballing here, but Donan mentioned his sword being able to store more magic or something. Maybe he can work out something with Julius so he can store his magic inside it and activate it when needed? It may not be in this way, but a way to overcome his weakness would be good, no?
