Hmm. Jig knows the “when in Rome” saying. Does this novel take place on Earth? Is the world we know actually a post-apocalypse? That’d be a good twist.

The original expression was "朱に交わればとはいうが", which means "You know what they say about mixing with vermillion...", referring to the proverb "If (you) mix with vermillion (you) turn red", vermillion being a red pigment used in seals among other things. Rome is only mentioned in this English translation.
