like all of his equipment, makina is also made of material that will disintegrate after the year of the mission is over, right? so theres not much risk even if she went rogue

So one thing that confuses me, if they can’t move, how are they useful? How do they explore space? A Von Neumann probe would need to move. Spacecraft too. If Makina units are household workers how do they do housework? That bit confuses me.

Thanks for reading and commenting, Doomsday! A computer doesn't move but is useful to space exploration, is it not? If used as per their original purpose, they don't need to move. They're super powerful computers, not meant to be "people". Remember that Makina is abnormal. As for housework, I think of them as something like a central hub. Like a main system in a smart home where things can be controlled remotely. They aren't servants, but more like the supervisor sending out robot vacuums and what not. Read more
