There's a beautiful symmetry with Souya and Shigure. Souya was looking for a father figure in the first part of the story, a search that lasted until the Myriad King. Post time-skip it is Shigure looking for a father figure and, despite how stone-faced and nonchalant they are about it, it is something that they are craving desperately. And despite the other available choices or suspicions about parentage, it is Souya they have zeroed in on.Now Souya knows he is Shigure's father, and it is a role he is afraid to take on. He lacked the father figure himself, so how can he possibly be a parent himself? So he wants to hold Shigure at arms-length, but what he doesn't realize is that he is already acting like a parent should. He understands Shigure's expressions, he protected them when he discovered the massacred orphans, and he interacts with them in a way a parent would.Souya looked for a father figure and found it. Now it is Shigure looking for a father, and they have found it too. Souya may not be looking to be that person but he unknowingly already is. Even if Shigure wasn't Souya's child it wouldn't matter. hmmm i'm kind confused about how Gunmerry kept his Gunmemories. is it because he went to sleep/rebooted before the bonds were broken? or is it because he's a extra special superpowered being like the Spiders and the pitiful dragon maid?

I can't answer that. *points to "NO SPOILERS"* But Izora did say she had a feeling she would see Souya again.Also, small thing, but Izu and Izora are totally separate entities that have never come into contact with one another. They were both born from the same IZORA base, but they're as different as they can get because of the totally different experiences "growing up".
