The serpents make me think of bacteria. Initially harmful but over time adapt and evolve into symbiosis with living things and become beneficial in certain ways. The last pope certainly seems to be a relation of Souya in some way. As far as I can recall, the only significant women in the story with dark hair are Maria and Mythlanica. He could potentially be the son of Souya and Maria then; Mythlanica is doubtful. Of Souya's kids with dark hair there is Shigure and... is the other kid with Lanseal called Kunashiri? Shigure's gender is still uncertain and I forget the other's gender, but they could both potentially be mother or father depending on gender, making the Pope a grandchild of Souya; all we can say for sure is that they aren't Haruna's kid. Last possibility that I can think of is that Yukikaze (either of them) could be the mother; if it's the AI then it would be father/son again, if it's the sister then Souya would be his uncle. I think I like that option best; the obvious thought is a direct descendent, so making them uncle/nephew would be a slight twist. Read more

So Gouka is a reset button. Press the reset button too often and the system will crash. This flame is yours to bear for you have been deemed worthy of it. Tis a burden that is yours to shoulder in solitude, a cross that only you can carry. For it is your will that fuels the flame and it is by your intent that it be used for good or ill. The path diverges oh hero, will you be the devil that devours all in hellfire turning everything to ash? Or will your fire be the light leading this decrepit world to salvation?

He seems to have blood relation with Souya and came from the future? Someone said Kunashiri, but Lanseal's hair is a brilliant silver. Well, Maria and Misuranika-sama's is dark tho. In reality, it's the power to move the serpents. Well, the mystery of the prince's real origins will remain a mystery for a time, but you're free to speculate.
