Thanks for reading and commenting, Foxteller6969! Wait, where did you get that? I think Melm just dotes on her.

Nekochama is here! And it's good to see the old pervy elf again. Knowing how things will end up kinda makes me feel sad though.

Thanks for reading and commenting, dadamori! Yeah. It's sad because I came to like Melm a lot at the end.

Always takes a while for our local cat to show up to people, it seem. Certainly contrast how easily Souya encountered Misuranika (or Mythlanica, I like this better) at the beginning, even it it's clearly her going "Hey I've seen this guy before."

Thanks for reading and commenting, thuannghia12! Is that how they spell her name in the official TL? Lol. I took a look and a lot of head scratching ensued. Sorry for the rant... Read more Why Champion of Light for Yuusha?(I get Champion, where did the "of Light" come from? WOT?) Where did the extra ja at the end of Frey's name come from? And why does the TL get the subject wrong so often?(ie. They made it so that ALL Yuushas were wastrels with money when that wasn't the implication at all...) sigh.... Show less

and that was all from reading one page lol

My understanding on that part is while Frey is particularly bad, Braves as a whole aren't exactly as noble as their fame tells to be. And Frey(r) is technically a male god name, so they changed it to Freyja, which is his sister's name, I assume, localization and all that

I hate it when localization is used as an excuse to mess with things that don't need messing with. It's a different world...why would it matter that Frey is the name of a male god in our world? Doesn't that add to the feel of otherworldness? Plus calling a Maou a Dark Lord...like I said, why all the WOT names? Plus you've read this far, so you know the twist that name involves. How were they gonna justify Souya's kingship if the novels had continued lol...

Speaking of feeling otherworld-y, I feel the official TL did a bit better job at it, having only 2 Japanese names (Souya and Yukikaze, Rutsuko not counting yet) among a sea of more Western-sounding names (Mythlanica and Windovnickel). You're right about twists tho, there's also a small one I've noticed, Alma and Almaguest. Official TL for them is ALma and ARmaguest, which I suppose is Japanese's not differentiating L and R. Would love to see them handle that as well

Well, sorry for trying to get the names phonetically correct rather than making my life easy and making stuff up. Besides, while the king of Elysium and his inner circle were blonde-haired blue-eyed, not everyone was like that. In particular, Otou-san and Misuranika-sama were specifically pointed out as looking Japanese or at least Asian.

I disagree the official Tl sounds less otherwordly than the ones that Solo have been using
