Heh... So the old one are in fact dead dragons huh. No wonder why Nisena is pissed off about their scent. And so the Ashtalia bloodlines that hailed from Lola who ate a dragon's corpse are technically descendants of an old one eh. Well that explains it. And Souya is by title the last endguard, which likely inherited the power and curse from the old ones as well. But isn't that curse, which is likely what Mother set upon the dragons, a counter measure for the beasts?

That said, I went back and read the Neomia arc a bit, and now I wonder if the Toto in Neomia was actually Barfuru's dream mixed in, since there is no way a real Toto from 500 years ago, and a vampire at that, would come to present then bore Tyutyu.

Thanks for reading and commenting, OguriKyousuke!Yeah, the Neomia Souya went into has Barfuru mixed in. He was a part of it after all, his real body was inside. And don't forget, dragons were made from spiders, so it's all spiders in the end lol. What Souya inherited was a warped version of the Endguard's contract with the Old Ones. It's detailed in the author's afterword right after the Neomia volume.Read moreI doubt Mother meant for it to be a countermeasure. What Mother put on the dragons was that they would become mortal if they got involved with humans to keep them from interfering too much. That they lost their dragon form after dying prob wasn't an intended consequence.Show less
