If she really thought she had to go for at least a year, she better tell the Phantom about the upcoming Beast Tide and they must prepare Rising Sun City not only for the impending BSP's attack but also the Beast Tide.

See, now this is why you need to take careful notes of your experimental process: they succeeded well on their first try but were never able to replicate the results since. That’s just poor practice.

SYX was NOT their first try. They've done the experiment since hundreds years ago, when SYX hasn't been born. Based on what Yun Qi said, the current group of warlocks who do this experiment is led by the same Great Summoners who did the experiment in the past. Also, I second @TitanofNyx

Also they thought SYX was a failure. And remember they had to move labs what with being hunted down and all, it's not like they can save all their research on a flash drive or two and haul it with them. Some of the notes definitely got lost and others misfiled along the way. It's hard being an evil science organisation on the run you know?
