Ummm m..... Is it really OK to forget your own mum and to give orders to the elf king? OK, you grew up for 20 years without a mum so it must be difficult keeping up with the new changes. But ordering the elf king? I still think it's a bit rude. Even if she did him a big favour and saved his life and the life of all the elves. It still doesn't look good to just casually command the king to prepare her meal, does it?

I dunno if the culture is different in China.. but when my friend hooked up with his girl, one of her childhood friends said something similar as these guys 'if you hurt her I will beat you up' type speech... and it totally ruined the mood for everyone that were there. everyone wanted to beat him up, including me, my friend, and his girlfriend.

I personally think that it's pretty obnoxious to just declare that kind of thing in public and can even be creepy. It can be a sweet sentiment in private and under the right circumstances though.

I agree with @winter. Theres a time and place for everything. The best way to do this kind of thing is to have a chat with the person when you're all alone with them. Then you can ask any question and also declare your position.
