In most culture, the design of men's clothes make the wearers easier to move around, especially for combative moves. So, even if she didn't deliberately disguise her gender, as a modern woman, she would chose the "easy to make combative moves" clothes as her training clothes. Hence, the other people can easily misidentified her gender.@Blue_Drop No, the race without gender distinction is the merfolk. It's mentioned when SYX and co. faced off their attack in Hidden Dragon Continent for the first time.
