Wow, such great cognitive abilities in this alternate universe. If someone's slower than you it's naturally that they're less competant and not because they had more to do in that same time... Shouldn't the demons just run the world by this point? Or are they also plagued by this plot-convient idiocy? Maybe the un-thinking beasts should be the actual rulers.
